ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Maryland vs. Ohio State in Week 6
ESPN’s FPI is predicting the outcome of every game this weekend, and the showdown between Maryland and Ohio State will be one of the major games in the B1G. The two teams have produced undefeated starts heading into the matchup.
Though Maryland was snubbed from the latest AP Top 25, the Terrapins have been firing on all cylinders, though the Buckeyes will be by far the biggest test of the season. Ohio State already has a top-10 road win on its record but do not expect Ryan Day’s program to look past Maryland.
Heading into the matchup, the FPI still gives Ohio State an overwhelming shot at winning. The Buckeyes are giving a 90.6% shot of victory, and Ohio State enters the game as a -20 favorite at home. A major factor in Saturday’s game will be the health of superstar wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison was injured in the win over Notre Dame and is Ohio State’s leader with 336 receiving yards and is tied for the team lead with 3 receiving touchdowns. Fortunately, he has been a full participant this week.
As for Maryland, the Terrapins will lean on star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa and an offense that has scored 38+ points 4 times so far this season. Most recently, Tagovailoa scored 6 total touchdowns as the Terps rolled past Indiana.
Saturday’s game is set for 12 p.m. ET on FOX.
