ESPN’s FPI is out with its projection of the winner of Michigan’s Week 4 home game against USC in Ann Arbor, the Big Ten opener for both teams. And USC has the edge as it’s been given a 57.5 percent chance to win.

The Wolverines and Trojans have met 10 times on the football field, the last time coming in 2007. Saturday, though, will mark the first time the two programs will face one another as part of the B1G — they’ll play again in 2025 and 2028.

Sherrone Moore’s team is 2-1 after a season-opening win over Fresno State followed by a home-opening 31-12 loss to Texas. They got back in the win column, though, in Week 3 behind a 28-18 win over Arkansas State; despite Davis Warren throwing 3 interceptions, Kalel Mullings had 15 carries for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns, part of a 301-yard rushing day for the Wolverines. Michigan’s defense held the Red Wolves to just 58 yards on the ground and 280 yards of total offense.

The Trojans are coming off an open week, but are 2-0 after topping LSU in Las Vegas before a 48-0 rout of Utah State in their home opener. After a week off, Lincoln Riley’s squad has their eyes set on their first-ever B1G contest: a trip to Michigan Stadium to face the defending national champions.

Kickoff between Michigan and USC at the Big House is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
