ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Minnesota vs. Ohio State in Week 12
ESPN’s FPI is predicting the college football slate for Week 12, including Minnesota’s trip to Columbus to face Ohio State.
Overall, the two teams have faced off 53 times in a series dominated by Ohio State. The last win by the Golden Gophers came over 2 decades ago with a win in 2000 under head coach Glen Mason.
This season, Ohio State is heavily favored to get to 11-0 with the Buckeyes a -28 favorite at home. The FPI also gives Ohio State a 97.1% chance of securing the win, and fans can use the BetMGM Ohio promo code to get in on the action.
Ohio State is rolling so far this season, and the Buckeyes have taken things up a notch in November. The Buckeyes are finally healthy on the offensive side of the ball with TreVeyon Henderson, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Cade Stover shining in the win against Michigan State.
Defensively, the Buckeyes are a bit banged up, but there is hope at least some of those players will be back this week or against Michigan. As for Lathan Ransom, head coach Ryan Day said this week it’s unlikely Ransom will be back in time to face Michigan.
As for Minnesota, PJ Fleck’s team had put itself in a position to contend for the B1G West, but those hopes have since taken a serious hit. Losses to Illinois and Purdue have pushed the Golden Gophers to the brink, and a loss to Ohio State would eliminate Minnesota in the division.
