It is just about time to get the B1G schedule off and running with Nebraska and Ohio State set to square off on Saturday.

Some may call it a coincidence in the scheduling that the Cornhuskers and Buckeyes square off this week, but many fans would disagree with that perceived coincidence. Ohio State and Nebraska were two of the three schools and the two loudest B1G schools that advocated against a canceled fall football season earlier in the year.

Regardless of what led us to this matchup, it is one that will be a tough task for Scott Frost and his Cornhuskers. Ohio State is coming off a trip to the College Football Playoff, has won three straight B1G titles, and returns star quarterback Justin Fields with a host of playmakers.

As fans are well aware, anything can happen on the football field. That is even more apparent when dealing with COVID testing and protocols that could shift player availability at the last minute. Nevertheless, ESPN’s Football Power Index has set up Ohio State as huge favorites in the season opener.

According to the FPI, the Buckeyes are given a 95.4% chance of taking down the Cornhuskers to start the season. It sure looks like Nebraska will need to be near perfect come kickoff.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
