ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Ohio State vs. Indiana in Week 1
ESPN’s FPI has projected the Ohio State-Indiana game, as both programs kick off their respective 2023 seasons in Bloomington.
For the Buckeyes, the goal every year is simple: win a national championship. Ryan Day’s team has yet to get over the hump, landing in the College Football Playoff three of the past four years but failing to bring home the program’s first title since 2014.
Meanwhile, the Hoosiers are seeking a first winning season since 2020. In 2021, they struggled to a 2-10 mark and failed to win a game in B1G play. They went 4-8 (2-7 B1G) in 2022.
Unsurprisingly, the Buckeyes have been projected by ESPN’s FPI as a runaway favorite, being given a 97 percent chance to win. They’ve won the last 27 meetings in the series (2010’s win was vacated) and holds a 78-12-5 edge overall, and there’s not much to suggest that this one will go much differently.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be shown on CBS, as part of the network’s new B1G football package that begins in 2023.
