Something will have to give when Rutgers travels to Northwestern in Week 7 for a matchup of two teams looking for its first B1G victory of the season.

Rutgers is 3-3 overall and 0-3 in B1G play. Northwestern has a 2-3 record, with two losses coming to B1G opponents and the other vs. Duke.

ESPN’s FPI is predicting Rutgers has a 54 percent chance of knocking off host Northwestern.

Rutgers is coming off a 31-13 defeat vs. Michigan State. Rutgers has lost to Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State in conference play.

Northwestern was routed 56-7 by host Nebraska last week. In B1G play, Northwestern has been defeated by Michigan State and Nebraska.

Rutgers leads the all-time series 3-1 vs. Northwestern. The last meeting between the two was an 18-15 road victory by Northwestern in 2018. Rutgers’ last win vs. Northwestern was at home in 1991.

Rutgers at Northwestern is slated for Oct. 16 (12 p.m. EST) and will be televised on the B1G Network.
