ESPN’s FPI projects the Week 12 matchup of Purdue vs. Northwestern

Purdue (6-4; 4-3 in B1G play) had a big bounce back after losing two previous consecutive games by defeating No. 21 Illinois 31-24 in Week 11. Purdue currently possesses the best percentage to win the B1G West divisional title at 49.8%, according to ESPN’s FPI (Football Power Index).
Purdue goes into the Week 12 matchup against Northwestern (1-9; 1-6) as big favorites. According to the FPI, Purdue has an 87.6% chance to defeat Northwestern.
The Boilermakers are looking to win their first divisional title since the B1G created the B1G title game was created. Purdue hasn’t won the B1G since 2000.
Last year, Purdue defeated Northwestern on the road 32-14 thanks to a 3-touchdown performance from quarterback Aidan O’Connell.
Northwestern has won 6 of the last 8 games versus Purdue. The Boilermakers lead the series over Northwestern 52-33-1.
