Only 2 ranked B1G teams were in action over Week 7, but some key results were still produced.

It started with Minnesota taking down Nebraska in a surprising upset. Even with the loss to Bowling Green, the Gophers are now 4-2 (2-1 in B1G play) and have maintained pace in the West division.

That led up to Purdue vs. Iowa with the Boilermakers spoiling the season of another No. 2 team. Beyond the upset, it kept Purdue at 4-2 (2-1 in B1G play) with Iowa now carrying a conference loss. (6-1 overall, 3-1 in B1G).

With 3 teams in the West now holding a conference loss, it will be a more interesting race to Indianapolis down the stretch. According to ESPN’s FPI, Iowa is still a heavy favorite to advance, though Minnesota and Purdue are back in the race for the time being.

Here’s what the FPI is seeing:

  • Iowa – 62.3%
  • Minnesota – 20.3%
  • Wisconsin – 8.6%
  • Purdue – 8.4%

Will Iowa rebound down the stretch, or can one of the remaining contenders overtake the lead in the West?
