With Week 8 in the books, the race to Indianapolis is getting tight throughout the conference.
In both the East and West divisions, some key upsets helped shape what to expect out of the final month of the season. Wisconsin upended Purdue one week after the Boilermakers climbed to No. 25 on the AP Poll. Illinois also stunned Penn State in a crossover matchup that was a shocker.
Two other contenders – Michigan and Ohio State – won big though in entirely different manners. The Wolverines shook off a sluggish first half in taking down Northwestern, but the Buckeyes used an explosive start to pummel Indiana in Bloomington.
Heading into Week 9, ESPN’s FPI has updated its odds to win the B1G. Here is what the FPI is projecting moving forward:
- Ohio State – 55.7%
- Michigan – 20.3%
- Iowa – 12.0%
- Michigan State – 4.8%
- Minnesota – 3.6%
- Wisconsin – 3.1%
Every other team is given less than a 1% chance of winning the conference.
