The Ohio State loss to Oregon is having a ripple effect across the rankings, and with the Buckeyes failing to maintain a perfect record, the B1G is suddenly finding itself outside the Playoff picture.
ESPN’s playoff predictor lists Alabama (76%), Oklahoma (71%), Georgia (69%) and Oregon (43%) as the top four teams given a chance to reach the postseason playoff.
But analyst Heather Dinich had a different take, giving the Bulldogs and the Ducks a higher probability than the Sooners. Her argument is that the win over Ohio State, in Columbus, gives the Ducks the edge. Her Top 4 looks like this:
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Oregon Ducks
- Oklahoma Sooners
Ohio State has fallen to 6th on the list, with just a 23% chance of reaching the playoffs. Clemson comes in at the five-spot, just ahead of them at 40%.
But hey, it’s Week 3 and after what we’ve seen in the first two weeks, hold on and buckle up — this can change fast.
