It’s never too early to put together some Bracketology predictions. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi was one of the first to release his for the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Lunardi believes 7 teams from the B1G will reach the March Madness field next season. That would be a two-team decrease from the past two seasons. The conference landed 9 teams in each of the past two tournaments.

First, Lunardi has Wisconsin as a bubble team on the outside looking in. He believes the Badgers will be one of the First Four Out next season. This prediction comes after Wisconsin earned a share of the B1G regular season title.

Wisconsin was the only bubble team.

Here’s a look at the 7 B1G teams Lunardi believes will be in the 2023 March Madness field, as well as their seeds:

  • No. 3 seed: Michigan Wolverines
  • No. 4 seed: Purdue Boilermakers
  • No. 4 seed: Illinois Fighting Illini
  • No. 5 seed: Michigan State Spartans
  • No. 6 seed: Indiana Hoosiers
  • No. 7 seed: Ohio State Buckeyes
  • No. 8 seed: Iowa Hawkeyes
