ESPN’s SP+ is weighing in on the Week 8 slate of college football, including a final score prediction for the game between Nebraska and Northwestern. While the two sides are familiar foes, this year’s matchup will look a bit different.

Saturday’s game will be the first matchup for the two sides without Pat Fitzgerald and Scott Frost in place since the 2017 season. Those two head coaches traded blows in the series from 2018-22, but both have since been fired.

As for this year’s matchup, Matt Rhule’s Husker program enters the weekend as a double-digit favorite for Saturday. The SP+ is riding with Nebraska, giving the Huskers a 79% chance of walking away with the win in a projected final score of 30-16. Fans can get in on those odds by heading to Caesars to get started.

Both teams have been up-and-down to begin the season, but Nebraska is hoping it found a bit of stability over the bye week. Rhule confirmed Heinrich Haarberg is the starting QB moving forward, and he’ll have a freshman target with Malachi Coleman in the starting lineup.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET as both teams resume the schedule off a bye week.
