ESPN's SP+ predicts final score of Ohio State vs. Purdue in Week 7
ESPN’s SP+ has produced final score predictions for the Week 7 schedule as Ryan Walters prepares for his first matchup against Ohio State as the head coach at Purdue. While the Boilermakers have stunned the world before, this week’s game looks particularly daunting.
Ohio State hits the road as a major 19.5-point favorite for the showdown. While that number might be a bit high, ESPN’s SP+ is giving the Buckeyes an 89% chance of getting the win with a predicted final score of 37-16 in favor of OSU. Ohio State enters the game at 5-0 but still not totally satisfied with the way the Buckeyes have looked this season. Ryan Day’s squad has notably struggled with slow starts this season, and another slow start on the road could put pressure on the Buckeyes in Ross-Ade Stadium.
On the flip side, Purdue has been up and down throughout the season. The Boilermakers are 2-4 but have been inconsistent on either side of the ball. Most recently, Purdue lost 20-14 to Iowa but is just 2 weeks removed from dropping 44 points at home vs. Illinois.
