ESPN's SP+ predicts outcome of Nebraska-Illinois showdown in Week 0
The 2021 college football season gets started this weekend with a slate of Week 0 contests on tap!
Among those contests is the first B1G game of the season between Nebraska and Illinois. Both teams enter the season with a lot of intrigue and an interesting outlook for 2021.
In Champaign, the Illini are entering the first season under head coach Bret Bielema. Illinois has not been great in recent history, but Bielema is taking over a veteran squad with plenty of experience.
In Lincoln, Scott Frost is looking to make a Year 4 jump with the Huskers. Through his first 3 seasons, Frost is just 12-20 at Nebraska and looking to get things rolling in the right direction.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Bill Connelly put out the Week 0 predictions of the SP+. Included was the score prediction for Nebraska vs. Illinois in Champaign:
- Nebraska 32.4 – Illinois 22.3
Will that hold up on Saturday? Kickoff is set for 1 pm EST on FOX.
lol, I cannot tell you how many mentions/DMs I’ve gotten since this morning, asking for Week 0 SP+ projections. I have to say, I feel weird feeding this addiction OH, WHO AM I KIDDING…
