ESPN has updated its preseason Football Power Index (FPI) for the 2020 season, even though there was minimal spring practice this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the past, ESPN has updated a way-too-early FPI Top 25, as well as a post-spring FPI. The network decided to produce a similar model this year, despite there being a lack of spring games. There have been some changes to the initial rankings, with players declaring for the NFL Draft, deciding to transfer following the 2019 season, and incoming recruiting classes.
