Have you ever watched two full football games back-to-back?

I’m sure you have. But, it’s what could be 7 straight hours of action. For some, that’s heaven. For others, it could be taxing. Not everybody has 7 straight hours to sit in front of a television set.

Regardless, people apparently sat and watched Ohio State-Indiana on FOX last weekend. To start, FOX was home to the Red River Shootout, where Texas upset Oklahoma. It was a phenomenal game and was probably the best of the weekend.

Directly after the Longhorns beat the Sooners, Ohio State-Indiana followed. You may think that people would change the channel or eventually leave their TV.

Some did, but many did not. Texas-Oklahoma got a huge rating, but so did Ohio State-Indiana:

As FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman says, Ohio State-Indiana got 3,988,000 viewers. That’s a big number, and was a 51 percent increase of the game on that time slot a year ago for FOX: Ohio State-Maryland. The Buckeyes and Terrapins got just 2,645,000 viewers — which is still a lot, but much less than what the Buckeyes and Hoosiers got.

One of the teams in the two matchups was the same, that being Ohio State. We can’t completely attribute the big number to the Buckeyes. Some love has to be given for Indiana here.

Ohio State beat Indiana 49-26, too, so it wasn’t as though a massive upset was taking place.

Tom Allen has the Hoosiers on an upswing, but are they truly that fun of a watch?

Apparently so.
