Former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has received a prison sentence after pleading guilty to charges of beating his girlfriend in 2018.

ESPN reported that Boykin, he played college football at TCU and in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, received a three-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and witness tampering charges. Boykin and prosecutors agreed to the sentence following his guilty plea.

The woman claimed that Boykin broke her jaw in two places during the incident that occurred in March 2018. Boykin was cut by the Seahawks following the incident.

Boykin played at TCU from 2012-15 and was the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2014. During his career with the Horned Frogs, Boykin threw for over 10,000 yards and 86 touchdowns. He also rushed for 2,049 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Boykin was undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft but spent two seasons with the Seahawks.
