Family of Florida WR provides positive update following scary collision during Gasparilla Bowl
Florida WR Justin Shorter is recovering from a frightening injury that took place during the end of the Gasparilla Bowl loss to UCF. Thankfully, the family of the receiver released a statement on Christmas Eve. According to that statement, Shorter is headed home soon and will make a full recovery.
“We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of prayers, love and endless support — he is going to be fine!,” the statement read, which was released by the Florida football program on social media.

The injury came on a hit with less than 3 minutes left of game time. Shorter took a hard hit from UCF DB Quadric Bullard while going up to catch a pass.
He was down motionless on the field for a long delay before eventually being carted off. It is good to see he will be alright.
