Let’s just call it like it is: nobody wants to be stuck in their home for more than two weeks. Especially as sports fans, we’d love to be visiting arenas, meeting up at a bar or restaurant for the big game, or maybe even playing our favorite sport.

But that won’t be possible for the next few weeks and possibly months. But just because live sports aren’t on our television screens doesn’t  mean we have to completely forget about the sports world completely. And, since we’ve been told to practice social distancing and quarantining ourselves in our home, why not ask this very specific B1G-related question: which B1G football coaches would you like to be quarantined with for 15 days?

We never get the option to choose who to be quarantined with. But in this scenario, let’s pretend you get to choose three B1G football coaches who you have to spend 15 days with in closed quarters? Who are you picking, and why?

I threw the question out on Twitter and received several interesting responses. First, I’ll give you my three selections:

  • Lovie Smith (Illinois) — He just seems to have a calmness about him that would keep a room very mellow and relaxed. Also, I’d like to get his thoughts on day-to-day things that he rarely gets asked, rather than bombard him with football questions.
  • Tom Allen (Indiana) — If I ever needed a motivational boost to help get through the 15 days in quarantine, I cannot think of a guy better suited to fill that role. Also, he’s probably pretty creative in finding things to do.
  • James Franklin (Penn State) — I get the sense that he’d be the kind of guy you could share an adult beverage with and shoot the breeze, or he’d also provide a competitive edge in an intense game of Scrabble or Monopoly. His versatility would be key.
