Fans react to report of USC, UCLA leaving for Big Ten
Welp, it happened. A report from Jon Wilner of L.A. Daily News was released on Thursday, and is stating that USC and UCLA are looking at leaving the Pac-12 for the B1G in 2024.
This would make the B1G a 16-team conference if it happens, and have the west coast programs potentially travel to the other side of the country to play certain teams. As you could imagine, people ended up losing their minds on Twitter.
Some people want the chaos, while others declared it as the death of college football. The reactions were candid between fans and media members alike in what was one of the more enjoyable Twitter reactions recently. It’s also worth noting that the Pac-12, B1G, and ACC announced an alliance in August of 2021.
Here are just some of the reactions to the news when the announcement broke the internet:

Going west was the only thing that really made sense for the Big Ten. Still, wow.

USC wants in the Big Ten … What is college football anymore??

Dumbest thing ever. Let’s get two West coast teams and throw them into a conference where Nebraska is the closest conference opponent.
College football is drunk.

College football is the only sport I really care about, and it is imploding

USC should also adopt Michigan’s fight song so “champions of the west” might actually mean something again.
