The three finalists for the Associated Press Coach of the Year have been announced.

On Sunday, the AP announced that Josh Heupel (UCF), Nick Saban (Alabama) and Brian Kelly (Notre Dame) have been named finalists for the award. All three coaches led their teams to undefeated records in 2018.

Heupel took over a UCF program that went undefeated in 2017, winning the AAC title and posting a Peach Bowl victory over Auburn. The Knights successfully completed another undefeated campaign this fall and finished the year ranked No. 8 in the College Football Playoff poll.

UCF was 12-0 with another AAC title.

Saban led the Crimson Tide to one of their most dominant years in program history, going 13-0 and defeating everyone on the regular season schedule by a minimum of three touchdowns. Alabama overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half in the SEC Championship Game to defeat Georgia for another conference crown.

Alabama was 13-0 and will play Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinal Orange Bowl.

Kelly completed the second undefeated season of his tenure at Notre Dame, pushing the Irish to a perfect 12-0 record and landing a spot in the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history. Notre Dame knocked off Michigan, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Northwestern and Syracuse this fall.

The Irish will take on Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinal Cotton Bowl.

The winner will be announced on Monday.
