First bowl assignment of 2022 postseason set following thrilling MAC game

The first of 82 bowl bids for the 2022 college football postseason has been assigned. Miami (Ohio) is going to the Bahamas Bowl.
In some thrilling Tuesday night MACtion, Miami (Ohio) knocked off Ball State 18-17.

The RedHawks were down 17-12 with under 2 minutes to go. Aveon Smith found Miles Marshall in the corner of the end zone to go up 18-17.

Brian Ugwu came up with the game-sealing interception at the Miami (Ohio) 47-yard line with less than a minute to go. The RedHawks were able to kneel down and run out the clock for the final 53 seconds.

Miami (Ohio) will face a Conference USA team in the game set for 11:30 a.m. ET on Dec. 16. It will air on ESPN.
