First to go: Vegas releases odds for first CFB head coach firing of 2019
The hot seat question is something that rears its head every season. Yes, even as early as Week 1.
Vegas has already updated its odds for the first head coach firing of the season. Three B1G names made the list, and you’d likely be able to guess who was included.
Rutgers’ Chris Ash, Illinois’ Lovie Smith and Indiana’s Tom Allen were all mentioned on the list of the potential head coaches who could be the first to go in 2019. There were also some high profile coaches included in those odds

It seems pretty unlikely that Allen would be fired at Indiana, considering he’s kept the Hoosiers competitive for the last two seasons. Illinois is hoping to return to a bowl game and Rutgers is just trying to show progress.

Ash and Smith are probably the two most likely candidates to be shown the door if things start falling apart early in the year.
