Florida is off to a miserable start in Cotton Bowl showdown vs Oklahoma

Florida landed a New Year’s Six Bowl despite three losses, and the start of that Cotton Bowl appearance has started smashingly…for Oklahoma, that is.
The Sooners started the game with the ball and did not waste any time in marching right down the field. Quarterback Spencer Rattler completed that drive just two minutes into the game with an early touchdown pass:

On the ensuing possession, Gators quarterback and Heisman Trophy finalist Kyle Trask made a terrible decision. He threw a poor out route that was jumped by Sooners DB Tre Norwood.
Norwood took that interception all the way back for a pick-six to make it 14-o, Sooners, just under three minutes into the game:

The terrible start for Florida only got worse on the ensuing possession with Trask throwing his second interception of the first quarter. Fortunately, that was not a pick-six, but Oklahoma did tack on a field goal to make it 17-0 early on.
Many questioned the decision to put the three-loss Gators into a New Year’s Six game by the CFP Committee. If this slow start snowballs into a blowout loss, many will continue to hammer the Committee for putting Florida at No. 7 on the final rankings.
