Former 4-star QB transferring from Florida after 1 year in Gainesville
A former 4-star quarterback has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
247Sports is reporting the Carlos Del Rio-Wilson has decided to explore his opportunities outside of Gainesville. The Cartersville, Ga. prospect was a member of the Gators’ 2021 recruiting class, spending just one season with the program before hitting the portal.
The 6-foot-2 quarterback did not see any game action at Florida during the 2021 season. He maintained his redshirt status and will have all four years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.

As a high school recruit, Del Rio-Wilson ranked as one of the Top 20 quarterback prospects of the 2021 class. He was also listed as a Top 150 overall talent, per 247Sports composite rankings.
He received a dozen offers on the recruiting trail, most coming from ACC or SEC programs. He did, however, receive interest from Michigan, who extended an offer to Del Rio-Wilson.
With the transfer portal always in motion, it’ll be interesting to see if any B1G programs extend an offer to the former 4-star gunslinger.
