Most All-America honors were passed out near the end of the regular season, but the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) revealed its 2018 Freshman All-America team on Monday.

Four B1G freshman received honors, three offensive players and one special teams player. No defensive freshman from the B1G made the cut.

All four players were from different schools. Purdue, Nebraska, Maryland and Penn State were all represented. Here are the four freshmen that made the All-America Team:

  • Adrian Martinez, QB, Nebraska
  • Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
  • Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland
  • K.J. Hamler, KR, Penn State

The four players all had exceptional seasons and all made significant impacts for their teams. Martinez was the leader of a high-powered Nebraska offense, while Moore was the go-to player for Purdue since the start of the season. Anthony McFarland had huge games throughout the year, including Maryland’s near-upset of Ohio State. K.J. Hamler was a home-run threat every time he touched the football for Penn State.

All four players have extremely bright futures and fans should be excited to watch these kids play over the next few years.
