Fox has announced details for its Friday night football package for the 2024 season.

Each week, the network will have a nationally-televised Friday night football game that kicks off at either 8 or 9 p.m. ET. On Wednesday, specific matchups for each Friday night time slot were officially announced.

The slate includes games featuring teams from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Mountain West conferences. Here’s a list of all the Big Ten games that are coming to Friday nights on Fox this fall:

  • Sept. 20: Illinois at Nebraska
  • Sept. 27: Washington at Rutgers
  • Oct. 4: Michigan State at Oregon
  • Oct. 11: Northwestern at Maryland
  • Oct. 18: Oregon at Purdue
  • Oct. 25: Rutgers at USC
  • Nov. 8: Iowa at UCLA
  • Nov. 15: UCLA at Washington
  • Nov. 22: Purdue and Michigan State

It seems clear that Fox is putting an emphasis on showcasing Big Ten newcomers in this time slot. Of the 9 Big Ten games listed above, 6 of them will feature a new arrival to the league this season. All 4 new Big Ten programs (Oregon, USC, UCLA and Washington) will host a Friday night conference game this season.

Oregon and UCLA will each play twice on Friday night — once at home and once on the road. Washington and USC each make 1 appearance on the schedule.

However, 3 of the Big Ten’s biggest ratings draws — Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State — will not appear on FOX’s Friday night schedule in 2024.

The FOX College Football Friday schedule is a new addition to the college football calendar in 2024.

The Big Ten is expected to have a total of 16 Friday night games in 2024. The other selections, which will air on FS1 or Big Ten Network (with the exception of Black Friday games), are expected to be announced next week.
