Regardless of whether you were a fan of either Ohio State or Michigan on Saturday, The Game didn’t disappoint. FOX announced the viewership numbers on Sunday and some records were broken.
This year’s version of The Game was the most watched regular season game that has ever been broadcasted on FOX with 17 million people watching. It was also the most watched college football game on any network since 2011.
Michigan topped Ohio State 45-23 in Columbus for the first time since 2000. This was also the first time that the Wolverines have beaten the Buckeyes in back-to-back seasons since 1999-2000.

The FOX broadcast of The Game ended up peaking with 19.6 million people watching at once. Those number are up 3% higher than the numbers from last year.
Hopefully both Ohio State and Michigan continue to meet in this matchup inside as top 10 teams more often, because it makes for some really fun television. Maybe the 2023 matchup will be even better.
