FOX CFB analyst makes the case for 2 B1G coaches being a good fit for USC vacancy
RJ Young from FOX Sports put together his top 5 list of head coaches that could replace Clay Helton from USC and 2 of them come from the B1G.
P.J.Fleck came up at No. 2 on Young’s list and Penn State’s James Franklin came up at No. 4 on the list, just above Urban Meyer from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
When Young discussed Fleck’s case, he brought up both Minnesota’s 11-win season from a couple of years ago, plus how he made Western Michigan competitive.
“Fleck flipped Western Michigan into a New Year’s 6 team and turned Minnesota into an 11-win program,” explained Young.

He then touched on James Franklin’s resume throughout his coaching career and how great of a job he did at Vanderbilt.
“Franklin left with a winning record at Vanderbilt who lost to Directional Tennessee Land Grant University (East Tenn. State) 2 weeks ago,” said Young.
This is a search that’s expected to last throughout the season with plenty of more rumors about it to come.
