We’re only five weeks into the college football season, but there are certain teams that have impressed just about everybody.

Others, not as much. But just because a team has lost one game, that doesn’t necessarily mean a player from that team can’t win a Heisman Trophy. Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor has been great in 2018, but his team lost to BYU.

Does that eliminate Taylor?

Well, he didn’t make FOX college football analyst Matt Leinart’s list of top 5 Heisman hopefuls.

Two from the B1G, however, did:

Leinart has the following heading into Week 6:

  1. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
  2. Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
  3. Will Grier, QB, West Virginia
  4. Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
  5. Trace McSorley, QB, Penn State

Is it a coincidence that Leinart was a star QB at USC during his collegiate days and now his top 5 Heisman list includes all signal callers?

Probably not, but Dwayne Haskins and Trace McSorley probably don’t mind — especially since McSorley has lost a game, whereas Alabama, Ohio State, West Virginia and Oklahoma are all unbeaten.
