The B1G is looking to get its media rights settled very soon. According to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic, a FOX Executive stated that it should be done in the next few weeks.
ESPN and FOX are the 2 companies that currently have the rights to B1G games. The contract with them will be expiring after the 2023 season, but it looks like the media rights deal will be completed before then if the reports are true. There has been some rumors that the ownership of the B1G’s media rights will be mixed like before.
FOX Sports has had the lion’s share of stake in the Big Ten Network, owning 61 percent at the moment which is as strong as any conference network across the nation. They have been with the primary rights holder of the B1G since 2017.
Other companies that are reportedly looking into the media rights of the B1G are CBS, NBC, ABC, ESPN, and Amazon.
