FOX scored a ratings bonanza for Saturday’s Michigan-Ohio State clash, as the Wolverines upset the Buckeyes to possibly derail their rival’s College Football Playoff bid.

Roughly 12.3 million viewers tuned in on the final Saturday of the regular season to see the traditional programs from the Big Ten go at it once again. To be exact, it was 12,323,000 viewers whose eyes were on the Horseshoe for arguably the greatest rivalry in college football.

That gaudy ratings number produced some notable records, too. First, it was the most-watched Big Ten game of the season on any network, which makes sense considering the Ohio State-Michigan game annually showcases the conference’s best.

But that wasn’t all. The Wolverines’ 13-10 stunner over the Buckeyes was the 2nd-most-watched college football game of the 2024 season on any network, so it wasn’t just Big Ten viewers who tuned in. It was everybody, because Ohio State-Michigan truly transcends college football as a whole.

FOX’s Big Noon telecast gets great ratings basically every week, but this particular Big Noon broadcast was bound to get better than great ratings, and that’s exactly what happened. When only 1 college football game all season gets better ratings on any network, you’re talking about a ratings blockbuster that’s meant for a blockbuster of a rivalry.
