Usually, it gets a little bit easier to rank teams as the college football season progresses. That’s not the case in 2021. Instead, trying to figure this thing out is getting more difficult.
Following Week 10 action, FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt unveiled his newest Top 10, but admits it wasn’t easy. In a tweet following his rankings, Klatt said “After Georgia, it’s impossible to rank these teams.”
Amen, Joel.
More complexities were thrown into the equation with No. 3 Michigan State falling to Purdue and No. 9 Wake Forest dropping a game to North Carolina. Plus, No. 2 Alabama, No. 5 Ohio State and No. 6 Cincinnati all had narrow escapes.
Here’s a look at Klatt’s Top 10 following the latest crazy weekend in college football:
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Ohio State
- Alabama
- Cincinnati
- Notre Dame
- Michigan State
- Michigan
- Oklahoma State

There’s no question, this is one of the college football seasons we’ve ever seen. It rivals the chaotic year everyone enjoyed back in 2007.
Klatt’s Top 10 is likely going to see some drastic changes again next weekend. We’ll see what happens in the final 3-week stretch of the regular season, but it’s been an incredibly fun ride to this point in the year.
