FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt has a new Top 10 this weekend, and is giving some thoughts on the College Football Playoff picture. With just one weekend remaining until the selection committee makes its final decision, there’s plenty to talk about.

In his Top 10, Klatt still has Ohio State positioned near the top, sitting comfortable in the No. 2 spot, behind only Alabama. There was a new addition to the rankings for the analyst this weekend, as Indiana squeaked into that No. 10 opening after being on the outside looking in for a few weeks.

Klatt also gave credit to Northwestern and Iowa after both registered wins over the weekend. Here’s a look at Klatt’s complete Top 10:

  1. Alabama
  2. Ohio State
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Clemson
  5. Texas A&M
  6. Georgia
  7. Cincinnati
  8. Oklahoma
  9. Iowa State
  10. Indiana

Klatt says that Iowa, Florida, USC and Northwestern are in the “almost” category right now.

So what does Klatt think of the current College Football Playoff picture? It’s interesting, because the college football analyst believes Alabama and Notre Dame have locked up spots, regardless of what happens in the SEC and ACC title games, respectively. Currently, Klatt has Ohio State and Clemson filling the other two spots.

He says, however, if one or both teams lose, there’s going to be chaos.

Ohio State closes out the season in the B1G Championship Game against Northwestern. Based on how the selection committee has graded the Buckeyes this season, a win would almost ensure that Ryan Day’s squad gets to compete for a national title for a second straight season.

If not, things could get really interesting with the selection committee. We’ll see what happens next week.
