A couple of ESPN analysts are debating Cincinnati’s chances of getting in as they would be the first non-Power 5 team to make the CFP.

After all, they’re 3-0 to start the season and are No. 7 in the country with a mega matchup on Saturday against No. 9 Notre Dame. If the Bearcats are able to win that, they could turn even more heads after this week.

However, both Gary Striewski and Jason Fitz don’t seem to trust Penn State and Iowa with regards to their chances of getting into the College Football Playoff.

During part of the segment on “The Kickoff,” Striewski asks Fitz, “Do you really trust Oregon at 3, Penn State at 4, and Iowa at 5?”

Fitz then counters by saying, “I trust Oregon…I think you’re right about Penn State and Iowa.”

It’s an interesting exchange considering that all 3 of these teams are undefeated and with them being top 5 in the nation in the latest AP poll. Penn State and Iowa have also both beaten ranked teams this year, just like Oregon has.

Here’s the full segment:

We’ll have to see how the rest of this season shakes out and if the B1G can be represented in the CFP.
