GameDay crew picks B1G winner, College Football Playoff teams and national champion

As the season kicks off, the College GameDay crew makes their predictions on the 2021 campaign. This season promises to have plenty of intrigue with a ton of talented teams across the country.

The entire crew (Desmond Howard, David Pollack, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit) selected Ohio State to repeat as B1G champions but none believe they’ll win the national title.

Here’s what each analyst for the College Football Playoff and national champion

Playoff picks/national champion:

Desmond Howard: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Oklahoma — Oklahoma is the national champion

David Pollack: Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State, — Georgia is the national champion

Lee Corso: Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia — Georgia is the national champion

Kirk Herbstreit: Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Clemson — Oklahoma is the national champion

College GameDay is live from Atlanta for a Week 0 matchup between Alcorn State and North Carolina Central in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge.

The first B1G game is Nebraska-Illinois, which kicks off at 1 p.m. (EST) and is televised on FOX. Ohio State kicks off its quest for a national title with a primetime road matchup at Minnesota on Sept. 2 (8 p.m. EST/FOX).
