The Georgia defense came down with a wild interception to begin the 2nd quarter of the SEC Championship Game.

LSU QB Jayden Daniels was looking for his receiver Jack Bech across the middle. Bech was immediately hit by Chris Smith before he could maintain possession of the ball. The ball popped into the air and bounced off of Bech’s helmet, then bounced off of Javon Bullard, before falling into the hands of Smael Mondon Jr.

Mondon’s INT gave the Bulldogs excellent field position. Stetson Bennett found Ladd McConkey on the very next play for a 22-yard TD.

The score gave the Bulldogs a 21-7 early in the 2nd.

The Tigers have been marred by mistakes in Atlanta thus far. In the 1st quarter, the Tigers had a 32-yard field goal attempt blocked. After scoring a TD on the next drive, the Tigers were within a score and driving. Then, the wild pin-ball INT happened, gifting the Bulldogs more points.

The 2nd half of this one should be exciting, check back for updates.
