High school football is back, and it is wilder than ever. On Friday night, Georgia schools Loganville Red Devils and the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes got into four overtimes in a wild game.
The game’s wildest event was how Loganville successfully created the game-winning play. The quarterback handed the ball off to the tight end in the backfield, where he delivered an over-the-head toss to the end zone, where the tight end at the line of scrimmage successfully caught it for the game-winning touchdown.

This was a highly unlikely play that could go wrong for several different reasons, and yet, the play was executed perfectly as it gave Loganville the 45-39 in 4OT.
This play has set the bar for the top plays in high school football throughout the season. Another fantastic play for Week 1 came in Ohio, where a team got the walk-off touchdown on a 72-yard pass with a reverse pitch from a receiver to his teammate.
