Georgia State DB provides early nomination for play of the bowl season with remarkable interception
Western Kentucky quarterback Tyrell Pigrome may be responsible for thrown the pass that could end up as the play of the year.
Unfortunately for Pigrome, it wasn’t a completion to a Hilltopper receiver.
During the second quarter of Saturday’s Lending Tree Bowl, Pigrome tried to thread the needle on a pass intended for Josh Sime, but Georgia State safety Antavious Lane had other ideas, and came up with a highlight reel interception that is one for the video archives.

Lane jumped in front of Simen to make a diving grab, bouncing off the turf with a display of victory.
While Pigrome will be tagged with the interception in the box score, an argument could be make that the throw was about as good as it could’ve been.
Sometimes the DB just makes a play.
