Greg McElroy and Chris “The Bear” Fallica decided to tackle a number of the Week 0 matchups dotting the college football landscape this weekend. That includes the Dublin battle between Nebraska and Northwestern.
When it comes to the game, McElroy admitted that he is close to “hammering” Nebraska as a winner by two touchdowns with the line for the game currently putting the Huskers as a 13-point favorite.
“I lean Nebraska heavy in this game, I think they win this game going away and kind of exorcise the demons of the 2021 season,” said McElroy during his Always College Football Podcast.
While Fallica responded by explaining that he likes Nebraska overall this season, he is a bit wary of the number for the game that has climbed heavily throughout fall training camp. However, Fallica does expect Nebraska to win outright.

“This number has rapidly climbed, and that’s one of the reasons I have a hard time getting to Nebraska in this game,” Fallica admitted. “I have trouble with that, especially with a team that hasn’t learned how to win, hasn’t learned how to lay the hammer down. I’m probably going to take a wait-and-see approach (on this game).”
Both teams finished 3-9 last season, and Northwestern was particularly brutal on both sides of the ball. Then again, Pat Fitzgerald has dialed up plenty of underdog magic during his time leading the Wildcats.
We’ll see what’s in store Saturday afternoon.
