Greg McElroy and Chris “Bear” Fallica recently broke down the start of the 2022 college football season. That included tackling a Thursday night battle in Week 1 between Penn State and Purdue.
On McElroy’s Always College Football Podcast, the Bear pointed to the Nittany Lions as a short road favorite heading into a night game in West Lafayette. Bear believes a number of people will be on Penn State and a -3 line for the team, but he is wary of that road trip for a number of reasons.
“I think a lot of people are going to be eying Penn State this year,” said Fallica. I think a lot of people are going to be down on Purdue… Purdue I think is going to be a tough place to play, I think it’s going to be very interesting taking the Boilermakers at home Thursday night.”
McElroy agreed with the Bear, saying he’s not going against Purdue as a home underdog in a night game.
“You won’t find any pushback from me,” McElroy said. “The day I go against Purdue as a short home (under)dog…”
Coming out of the 2021 season, Penn State is looking to bounce back while Purdue is trying to capitalize on a 9-win season. It should be an electric atmosphere and great opening game for both squads.
