Greg McElroy and Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica had a few things to say about this weekend’s B1G match up between Michigan and Purdue. Both agreed that the Boilermakers seem to be more of a trend than an actual contender in this game.

Purdue is currently 8-4 overall and 6-3 in conference with their best win being against Maryland. The Boilermakers will face their biggest challenge this weekend by far in the Wolverines.

“A lot of people on Purdue citing it’s a letdown spot for Michigan, it’s a dangerous team veteran quarterback. I don’t see it. Purdue to me is very human,” McElroy said while explaining the the B1G matchup. “They haven’t a defense quite like Michigan. I like the over of 50.5, but this seems like a trendy dog for the Boilers.”

Michigan just beat its hated rivals Ohio State in a 45-23 finish at Columbus in a top 3 match up. The Wolverines rank among the best in the nation defensively and have one of the best rushing attacks on offense.

Fallica is also leaning towards the over in this game, citing how many thought Iowa was a safe bet last season.

“It was the same deal last year where people really liked Iowa for some reason. The game was over in the second quarter,” Fallica said about last year’s B1G Championship between the Hawkeyes and Michigan. “At least Purdue is capable of scoring points. I do think the over would be the side I would look at.”
