Greg McElroy excludes Oregon, Michigan from list of top 4 Big Ten teams after Week 2
Greg McElroy has revealed his top 4 teams in the B1G conference after Week 2.
The former Alabama quarterback has never been one to mince words, and these rankings may ruffle some fans’ feathers.
At No. 1, McElroy has the Ohio State Buckeyes. Considering the Buckeyes are No. 3 in the AP Poll and have bludgeoned both of their opponents, this makes sense.
“I thought it would be between Ohio State and a former Pac-12 team at the top,” McElroy explained on the latest episode of Always College Football. “I just thought that former Pac-12 team would be Oregon. It’s not. It’s USC.”
McElroy has Ohio State and USC in his top 2 spots, with Oregon nowhere to be found anywhere on the list. Next up is Penn State.
“I think Penn State is a far more capable offense than they were at any point last year,” the former QB explained.
With only one spot left, McElroy went with Nebraska to round out the rankings ahead of teams like Michigan and Oregon.
“I really love their defensive line,” said McElroy. “I think the back end of their defense is solid and their QB is going to continue to get better.”
Oregon, while 2-0, has struggled at times in both games against FCS Idaho and Boise State. Michigan, meanwhile, finds themselves outside of the top 4 even as reigning national champions due to an ugly home loss to Texas in Week 2.
It will be interesting to see how these rankings change after what should be another exciting slate in Week 3.
