Greg McElroy explains what it would take for Illinois to down Minnesota Saturday
Illinois is ranked, but the Fighting Illini have to earn it if they want to start a streak heading into next week.
Minnesota awaits, as does, very likely, Mohamed Ibrahim – one of the most talented backs in the B1G and the nation.
Always College Football’s Greg McElroy and Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica previewed the matchup adn who they would take as far as betting odds. Both agree that if quarterback Tommy DeVito is playing, the Illini should be the play.
“If it’s Tommy DeVito it’s full go to me,” McElroy said. “I like the Illini at home, they’re playing well and shoot if I can buy it up to 7, that key football number I love the Illini in this spot. But I’ve got to find out about the health of their quarterback.”
Illinois’ defense will give Ibrahim everything he can take and more on Saturday, the question is whether or not Illinois can keep up offensively. Chase Brown is a fantastic runner in his own right, and could be prepped for a monster day Saturday.
We’ll see. Kickoff is set for Noon on Big Ten Network.
