There were a lot of eyes on the B1G in 2018.
Half of the highest-rated college football games this season featured B1G teams, according to Sports Media Watch. Five of the top 10 games featured teams from the league, better than any other league in college football.
The report, which was released earlier this week, shows that the SEC Championship Game featuring No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Georgia was the highest-rated game of the season, receiving a 10.1 rating. Next was No. 4 Michigan vs. No. 10 Ohio State, which had a 7.5 rating.

The late-September top 10 clash between Ohio State and Penn State came in at No. 5, and the B1G Championship Game between the sixth-ranked Buckeyes and No. 21 Northwestern came in at No. 7.
Ohio State’s early season matchup with TCU and Michigan’s season-opening trip to Notre Dame rounded out the list at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
While everyone seemed to criticize the B1G for having a down year in 2018, people couldn’t help but tune in for some of the best games of the 2018 season. That should tell you that the league is in pretty good shape.
