Heisman Watch, Week 10: A pair Pac-12 passers distance themselves
As one prolific Pac-12 passer just about fell from the Heisman watch list with his 3rd loss — don’t feel too bad for Caleb Williams, who already has one trophy — a pair of conference colleagues bolstered their resumes with key wins.
Could the Heisman race come down to the Pacific Northwest? It sure can, if Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix have anything to say about it.
Here is a look at the current Heisman odds and how the current top 10 contenders performed in Week 10…
1. Michael Penix Jr., Washington Quarterback

Week 10 stats: 22/30 passing for 256 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 3 rushes, negative-4 yards, 1 touchdown

One big number: Penix’s 256 passing yards marked a season low in a game in which Washington running back Dillon Johnson rushed for 256 yards.

Week 10 stats: 29/38 passing for 386 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, 5 rushes, 3 yards, 2 touchdowns

One big number: Daniels set a career high for rushing yards, his 2nd time breaking the century mark this season.

Overall stats: 156/206 passing for 2,134 yards, 18 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 37 rushes, 137 yards, 3 touchdowns
One big number: Though he was held out of the end zone, McCarthy topped the 300-yard mark for the first time this year.
