For the second straight year, College GameDay will travel to Wisconsin’s season opener.

Only this time, it might be a more pro-Badger environment.

Kirk Herbstreit confirmed on the Doug Gottlieb Show that College GameDay will travel to Green Bay, Wisc. for Wisconsin’s opening week showdown against LSU at Lambeau Field. Last year, ESPN’s kickoff show opened the season in Dallas for the Badgers’ tilt against eventual-national champions Alabama.

It’ll be the first time since 2013 that ESPN isn’t taking its pregame show to Dallas. Four of the last five years, College GameDay opened the season at the home of the Cowboys.

The game will not, however, be played in primetime. ESPN confirmed that it’ll be on ABC at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 3.

It’ll mark the third straight year in which the Badgers are opening the season in an NFL stadium against an SEC team. The Badgers will also take on former defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, who left for LSU this offseason.

Now the opening week headliner will have another element of hype added to it.
