Five weeks of the 2021 college football season have brought some crazy moments. There are only 26 teams left in the nation that are currently undefeated. Among those undefeated teams, 16 of them are in a power five conference plus Notre Dame as an independent team. The B1G, along with the SEC, have the most teams left undefeated in the conference with five teams.

Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State are the only teams left in the B1G that remain undefeated.
These five teams are the front runners, along with the Ohio State Buckeyes (3-1), to win the B1G Conference title and contend for a spot in the College Football Playoffs. Iowa and Penn State were the two highest-ranked teams at No. 5 and No. 6 entering into week four of the season.
The B1G Conference has made the College Football Playoff five of the seven years it has been in existence. The only time the B1G missed the Playoff was in 2017 and 2018.
