Here's an updated look at the FBS coaching vacancies
The coaching carousel has been ramping up the past few weeks, and it started turning earlier than it ever has in college football.
The latest was FIU’s Butch Davis stepping down after the season. So far, there has been 11 FBS coaching changes.
The Action Network’s Bret McMurphy lists all 11 teams down below:
With FIU’s Butch Davis not returning next year, now up to 11 FBS coaching changes:
LSU
USC
TCU
Washington
Washington State
FIU
Akron
UMass
UConn (filled by Jim Mora)
Texas Tech (filled by Joey McGuire)
Georgia Southern (filled by Clay Helton)https://t.co/RwEouTTOPz— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) November 15, 2021
3 of the 11 FBS schools have already found its replacement for the 2022 college football season.
Not a single coach from the B1G is on the list so far, but that could change come early December. For now, all 14 B1G schools will keep their coach for the 2022 season.
This December has the chance to be the wackiest December in college football history. Fans have already started to do the crazy plane tracking deal on social media to see if their school is going after a big fish.
There are 5 Power 5 schools open, and it is only the middle of November. It will be a race for these schools to get the candidate they want, or they’ll be scrambling for a coach amid the holiday season.
We only have 2 weeks left in the regular season, and we have already seen 11 coaches get fired. It will be interesting to see how many more coaches from the FBS get sacked before their teams finish the season.
