Just before noon, the news broke. Seven Big Ten teams made the top 25 — the most of any conference. Here’s how it shook out:

No. 5 Ohio State

No. 7 Michigan

No. 15 Penn State

No. 18 Michigan State

No. 19 Wisconsin

No. 20 Iowa

No. 24 Nebraska

With that in mind, how do each Big Ten team’s schedules look now? Which teams have the toughest schedules ahead of them? In particular, how many ranked opponents does each B1G team face according to the preseason poll?

Don’t worry, we’ve counted for you (in alphabetical order):

  • Maryland: 6
  • Michigan: 6
  • Northwestern: 6
  • Illinois: 5
  • Indiana: 5
  • Iowa: 5
  • Ohio State: 5
  • Rutgers: 5
  • Wisconsin: 5
  • Michigan State: 4
  • Minnesota: 4
  • Penn State: 4
  • Purdue: 4
  • Nebraska: 3

Northwestern certainly doesn’t have an easy road in the West while Nebraska looks to have a favorable schedule heading into the season. In the East, Michigan may be favored but the Wolverines will have to run a gauntlet to earn a trip to Indianapolis. Additionally, Mike Locksley’s first year leading the Terrapins could be a rough one.
